Leila’s POV

“What happens? Why do I survive but not my father?” I asked after a minute of silence.

My mother’s eyes were full of sorrow when she looked at me. “I’m sorry, but I can’t answer your question. I don’t know what happened to you and your father.”

What happened that night? How can I survive that tragic night? The question filled out my mind, but I did not voice it since my mother didn’t have the answer.

“But that night changes you ... You wake up in the middle of the night screaming, sometimes you vanish. And when you come back, you don’t know where you went.”
