Atticus’s POV

The doctor is speaking, but I can’t hear a word of what he is saying. All I can see is my mate curled up on the hospital bed. A bruise is forming on her cheek, and her cheeks are tear-stained. I want to fix this, but I am not sure if there is anything I can do. This isn’t fixable, and I will kill my brother for what he has done.

After Eryn commanded them to leave, she crumpled to the ground. Her brown eyes were wide with fear. She didn’t need to speak aloud to tell me what was happening. The look on her face and the blood streaming down her legs told me all that I needed to know. She clutched her stomach and curled into a ball, begging for the Moon Goddess to give her the child back.

When I took her into my arms, tears ran down her cheeks, but she didn’t cry. She merely rested her hea
