Chapter 148. I Was Robbed

Ellis’s POV

I was restless the whole evening. My eyes occasionally look at the picture of the twins on my phone, and memories of what happened are recalled in my head. They were so perfect, a perfect mixture of their mother and I.

I decided to take a walk around the Estate, to clear my head. However, it did me no good.

“No, I don’t care about that. Just pick,” I heard Lilac’s distant, cold voice. I focused on the couple sitting on a bench. Jace and Lilac haven’t been close since her miscarriage, and I could sense their tension.

“I’m tired. I’m going to bed,” Jace said, standing up and walking away.

“Run like you always do!” she shouted.

I wished they could fix their relationship already. They will regret losing each other. I know how much they are in love yet they allowed this one thing to somehow prevail in causing trouble for them. I’ve advised Jace many times to sort out whatever issues he had with Lilac, but he only says he messed up.
