Nicholas’s POV

I was furious.

The word barely scratches the surface of what tore through me when I took in the sight of what those bastards had done to her. Fury wasn’t sharp enough, wasn’t violent enough to describe the inferno that exploded in my chest. It was rage so absolute it drowned out everything else—reason, restraint, even fear. All I saw was her broken body on the ground and the monsters who had dared to touch what was mine.

I didn’t think. I didn’t hesitate.

I trapped them before they could even register what was happening, my power snapping into place around them like an invisible cage. The air crackled, thick and electric, responding instinctively to my fury. I jumped in without mercy, my fists connecting with flesh and bone, the impact reverberating up my arms. I kicked, struck, broke—until they
