I’m tired.
The thought drifts through me slowly, heavy and dull, like it has to wade through thick water just to reach the surface of my awareness. It doesn’t come with panic at first. It’s simply there—an observation rather than an emotion.
But then another question follows it, quieter and more unsettling.
Why am I so tired?
The exhaustion isn’t the kind that comes from walking too far or staying awake too long. It’s deeper than that. It’s as if every part of me—my muscles, my bones, my thoughts—has been drained and left hollow. I feel numb, suspended in a strange in-between where time doesn’t move properly.
