Chapter 430. It’s Just a Scratch

Apphia’s POV

I yank one rogue off him and throw him against the tree. I didn’t even know I possessed such strength. The rogue snarls at me once it gets on my paws, its eyes on me, ready for a kill. It jumps in the air, but I get on my knees and claw its stomach, blood gushing out. It falls to the ground, howling painfully. I don’t give it a chance to heal or get up as I claw over and over again. Sure, it won’t get up. I turn to see the young wolf; he’s killed the other rogue. He nods and jumps on the rogue on the ground, biting its neck until it stops shaking. I almost hurl my gut at the blood around his mouth.

He snorts, ’She’s not supposed to be here,’ I hear his thoughts. I can hear them clearly because he’s in his form.

“I saved your life, and this is how you thank me?” I say and close my mouth, realizing what I did. His eyes widen a little,

’Did she just hear my thoughts?’ he murmurs.

“No,” I shake my head and shrug in a lie. “You mind linke
