Chapter 4
"I want this conversation to go around with us brothers first before it goes out to the council and other officials of the kingdom." We immediately nodded to what Dastan said.
"We all know that we owe a lot to the Deltora kingdom; it was the first kingdom that helped us when the Sartorias fell. Zen's relationship isn't good, and as the second prince of Deltora, it didn't become an obstacle to strain the relationship between the two kingdoms. I frowned at Dastan's long words. Why doesn't he just straighten us out?
"Just spill it, Dastan. Does Deltora need our help?" I saw the shaking of my brothers when I suddenly spoke to our king.
"You're so impatient, Lily." Even Dastan was shaking his head at me.
"Currently, Deltora is facing a bad situation, and I want us to support their kingdom here." My mind was right. How much support does Deltora need from us? They are bigger and have more warriors than our kingdom.
"Not a good situation?" Finn asked in surprise.
"There is already a small conflict between the kingdoms of Parsua Deltora and Halla Eberron." When Dastan mentioned the latter kingdom, I almost got chills. In this kingdom, we met a wolf destined for me.
"King Tobias assigned their second prince to go here so that he could formally speak with the King of Halla Eberron so that war could be prevented. "And to convey our support to Deltora, I want three of you to accompany the second prince of Deltora on his journey." Dastan's words almost made me cry. Even with the itch in my knees, I can already feel it. I feel like my chest is tight.
I can't go back to the Halla empire; I can't set foot in this empire anymore. We can no longer cuddle with the wolf because I almost lose my senses when I feel his presence.
"Casper, Finn, and Lily are the ones I chose to travel with." I was completely stunned by Dastan's words. Even if I wanted to protest, I couldn't find any reason.
"I want to come too, Dastan!" I just listened to what Caleb said. He could be the one to replace me.
"You have to do something in the palace. This mission belongs only to the three of them. Until then, I have some more councils to talk to." Dastan stood up and started to turn away from us, but before he could get out completely, there was a catch, he told us.
"Tomorrow you will be heading to Deltora. I want you three to be careful on your journey. A vampire from our territory was found lifeless in the forest of Halla and was said to have been killed by wolves. "Kill every wolf you see on your journey; they are a threat to our race." My whole body went completely cold.
How can I possibly do that to my own mate?
Today is the day when we are sent to Deltora to accompany Rosh, the second prince of their kingdom, on his journey to Halla Eberron.
Dastan did not tell us what caused the misunderstanding between the two kingdoms. What is more important to the three of us is that we can carry out our mission properly. We can never disappoint Dastan in this matter.
We are both on our horses. Evan and Finn forced me into a carriage, which I firmly refused. I will not be heading to Deltora as a guest princess; I will be heading here as a royal with a duty to complete.
Dastan, Harper, Casper, and Caleb are already outside the palace to see us off. I smiled bitterly, remembering that we were missing one. My brother, Zen, has been imprisoned under the palace for several years because of his intense thirst for the destined woman from the other world.
"You three be careful," Harper, who is Casper's twin, said to us with a smile. They are the youngest of our siblings.
"We will," I quickly answered as Finn and Evan agreed by nodding.
"Shall we go?" Evan asked. He was followed immediately by Finn. I just nodded to his majesty, who was just looking at us silently.
I started to move my horse when I stopped it again and quickly brought it back right in front of my brother, Dastan.
"May I make a request, your highness?" I asked him. I saw Casper, Harper, and Caleb frown because of what I said. I also feel Finn and Evan's horses stop running.
"What request, Lily?" Dastan answered me formally.
"Can we talk about Zen's problem when we get back? I know you are busy at the palace, majesty, but try to visit him. He's literally dying. Our brother is dying. We need to get the human girl. This is one of the reasons why it is against my heart to leave Parsua Sartorias. Zen is no longer in good condition under the palace.
"I'll check on him." Dastan answered me simply. I didn't look for long words from him; I turned my attention to the rest of my siblings.
"While I'm gone, visit Zen under the palace," I said briefly to Casper, Harper, and Caleb.
"No problem, Lily." Caleb answered me with a smile. I just nodded to all of them before I started my horse when Evan and Finn saw me approaching, then they shooed their horses again.
I didn't plan to use my power on the journey that would happen today. I'm not used to it yet, and there's a good chance we'll end up somewhere else. I still need a lot of practice with this power.
Because we ran quickly as brothers and sisters, we arrived at Parsua Deltora in a few hours. We expected that the prince would be ready with us, but I was greatly surprised when we saw the king waiting for us in front of the palace.
"King Tobias," the three of us bowed together in respect.
"Greetings---" King Tobias didn't finish what he had to say when we heard the footsteps of a rushing white horse. On board was the second prince of Deltora.
"Are they my men, Tobias?" If I didn't know how to respect their king, I would have poisoned this second prince with smoke.
I noticed that Evan and Finn held back what Rosh said, grinning at the three of us as if he was pleased to see us holding back our anger.
