Despite being reluctant about the prospect of dining that night with Manuela and Logan, when I entered Liam's living room, the first thing my eyes, against my will, landed on was Manuela.
She was there, stunning in a discreet blue dress that, like any other outfit she wore, hinted at the curves of her body and highlighted all of her beauty in a way that left me breathless.
I tried to disguise the visceral reaction she always provoked in me, maintaining a neutral expression and avoiding looking directly at her. I didn't want my friends to notice the impact Manuela still had on me, especially with Olivia by my side.
With a superhuman effort, I greeted everyone with a cordial smile, trying to focus on the conversations around me. But it was hard to divert my attention from Manuela's presence, which seemed to stand out among the others.
