Realizing that Adriel and I were left alone in the dining room while everyone else seemed to have found something to do, I decided to go look for Manuela, who had been gone to the bathroom longer than expected. It became obvious that she was avoiding Adriel's presence at all costs, and the bathroom was just the excuse she found to escape from him.

Walking down the hallway, I ran into Liam and Cecilia hastily leaving the kitchen. They almost bumped into me, indicating that something was amiss. Their serious expressions confirmed my suspicion that something urgent was happening.

“Is everything okay?” I asked, concerned about their rush.
