"Oh, Becca, I thought I'd lost you," Zane murmured, his voice trembling with emotion.

"Never! I knew we would meet again, but I never imagined it would happen so soon and here,” Becca whispered, her voice breaking. "I missed you so much. How did you end up here, and where is our pup?"

Becca clung to him out of sheer joy.

“He’s with my father. I was on my way to Jerney and Alpha Artic, my friend. I encountered a roadblock, and the officers took me here for interrogation. They wanted to know where you are, suspecting that you were with me.”

Zane grabbed her hand tightly. "We need to be careful," he stated. "Elyon won't stop looking for you. We have to stay one step ahead."
