In a secluded clearing in the forest, Jerney and Artic paused to catch their breath.

They were once again busy combing the entire area in search of Becca. The forest was dense, the underbrush thick with foliage that made every step a cautious one. They knew she would flee through the woods to reach any big city to blend in.

They had been searching for days, especially after Becca didn't show up at the airstrip. Then Jonas confirmed that she had left the pack in a car, but all contact had been lost.
