Chapter 28

Cara's POV

I returned to an empty room. I expected that Rollins wouldn't be here, yet it still hurt to be alone.

I pulled off my training outfit; my knuckles were hurt badly, but I managed to take off my clothes. Right before I could change into a new pair of clothes, a knock on the door caught my attention.

"A minute," I call to the person behind the door. I was sure it wasn't Rollins; he wouldn't knock.

I walked to the door after I was fully dressed to see that it was May.

"Hello, Cara, how are you doing?"

"Fine," I say, her eyes went down to my injured knuckles. "Well, not exactly perfectly fine... just in the middle," I say, opening the door a little for her to walk through.
