Michaël and Fabian decided to go home, leaving us with our mother. Finally, Jeanne was still in her corner. I guess the reason she's still around is because she wants to please me, and also find out about our mother's condition.
I looked at her and I smiled. She doesn't look like that, but our mother's situation worries her, and I guess that she is looking for a way to overcome past resentments and to give our mother a little happiness in her misfortune.
"Emma, look at this...I bought these earrings thinking of you, what do you think?"
I looked at the jewelry box that my mother handed me and I found it too extravagant. I wanted to decline but to see her big eyes shining so much I just smiled before accepting this gift.
