Megan sighed before turning to Jack. If they saw her or heard her, they would think she was sighing in relief. When in reality, she was sighing at how gullible they were. The full moon was always the perfect time to come after Lycans. Their brain cells suddenly stopped working.
“Hey, sis, we’re okay for now. You heard the cop, right? He’s going to help us get something warm to eat. Then tomorrow we’ll be back to camp. Shh, we are going to be alright now.” The Lycan stationed outside the door relaxed as well.
If he played his cards right, he, too, would have a share of the fresh ones before they were passed around to the others.
