Chapter 66

When they got back to his car, he opened Maya's door for her. She thanked him and got inside, then turned to look at him. Joshua looked into her eyes and reached out to brush a strand of her hair behind her ear, smiling warmly at her. She smiled back. "Thanks for taking me to the beach today."

Joshua nodded. "It was my pleasure. Let's go home."

Maya and Joshua spent most of the week together. She enjoyed having a friend to hang out with. At first, she felt awkward around him since they hardly knew each other. But as time went on, she became more comfortable around him.

One night, after they had gone out to dinner, Maya and Joshua found themselves at his house watching TV. They fell asleep on the couch.

In the morning, Maya woke up and saw that Joshua had already left for work. She quickly took a shower, got dressed, and left his place. On her drive home, she thought about how nice it was to have someone to hang out with.
