Emma

I’m laying in the hospital bed, and I’m still in shock. Jay hitting me was one thing, but he was actually going to cut open my stomach, he’d completely lost it! My parents and Josh are in the room with me, but honestly, I just don’t feel like talking. I’m curled up on my side just staring at nothing when I hear the door going, but I don’t bother moving until I hear his voice.

“Emma, how are you feeling?” He slowly walks around the bed until he’s standing in front of me.

I look up at his face and the moment I see Alex’s soft smile I crumble, I jump up and wrap my arms around his neck as I lose control of the tears I’ve been holding back since Jay first hit me. Alex instantly wraps his arms around me and then starts to rub my back gently.

“Hey shh, shh, it’s OK sweetheart. Everything’s going to be fine. I’ve got you, and he’s never going to hurt you again, I promise!”
