Chapter 49. Morning Sickness

Mavis suddenly looked up from his phone and glanced around before burying his face in it again. He was tapping the keyboard on his phone quickly then, he would wait and begin again.

He had stopped eating and was now more interested in his phone. “It seems you have been distracted, son.” Mom said and he looked up, feeling uneasy.

“It’s just a short conversation with workmates about an updated schedule. I’ll resume eating as soon as we have finalized our discussion.” Mom nodded.

Donald and Roland were already done with their food and had vacated the table leaving behind a portion of their meal.

Somehow, Jessie was able to swap his plate with Donald’s so he could finish up when he had remained.

“Jessie eats more than everyone in this house, yet, he doesn’t grow fat,” Dad commented teasingly, standing to his feet as he wiped his mouth with the serviette. Jessie gave him a small smile and continued with his food.
