Chapter 51. Craziness

I resisted Estelle’s advances with all the willpower I could muster, determined to extricate myself from the dangerous web she was weaving.

“Stop,” I said, my voice stern, commanding. “This isn’t what I came here for.”

But Estelle wouldn’t be deterred. She pressed closer, her body flush against mine, her lips perilously close to mine.

“You know you want this,” She whispered, her voice low and sensual.

For a moment, I hesitated, my body betraying me with its treacherous response to Estelle’s proximity. But then, I remembered the purpose of my visit, the seriousness of her words.

Pushing her away with a firm hand, I took a step back, my breath coming in short, sharp gasps. “No. Whatever it is that you’re hiding, just tell me now. I won’t fall for your tricks.”

Estelle’s expression hardened, her eyes flickering with something akin to hurt before she steeled herself.
