Harmless Joke

I took big steps to get out of the bar and to get a taxi. Unfortunately, there was no vehicle passing by. I glanced down at my wristwatch only to find out how long I had been wasting my time here. I sighed and looked upon the sky full of regrets.

The sky was tar-black, and the clouds were gloomy. “No, not now please…” I murmured.

The wind rose up, and the tinkling sounds came to my ears as the first pearl of the rain dropped onto the floor.

I looked around for shelter. I saw the waiting shed across the street, but it was already full of people. The rain was incessant. The wind whipped up into a frenzy, and it’s shrinking the hell out of me.

I don’t have a choice but to run back to the resto-bar. I stood on the edge of the establishment, looked up at the sky, and hugged myself.

“Miss, why don’t you come in first?” the security guard woke me up.
