Touch Down

I quickly walked away from him and shrugged what had happened. I sliced the cake and pizza. I also took juice from the refrigerator and put it in the glass.

“How are you here?” he asked while chewing the food in his mouth.

“Hmm, fine. I’m finishing a proposal for Mr. Lee. I’ll be attending a meeting by Thursday at their office.”

Peter shook his head. I knew he didn’t want me to work. But even though I’m having a hard time because of my pregnancy, I don’t feel like I’m tired because I don’t want to be a burden for him.

“How’s your conference?” I changed the topic.

“The meeting went well,” he said and just shrugged his shoulder. I feel like he doesn’t want us to talk about his visit to the Philippines.

I just nodded and didn’t ask any more questions.
