Chapter 79. The Walking Ghost

I sat back in my seat in my office and looked out the glass window to see my wife sitting in the garden with Matteo.

This scene is quite familiar as this has happened before.

A long time ago.

The very first time I got a peek of her rebellious tattoo.

The only difference then and now was that back then she was just my son’s single and definitely not a pregnant nanny.

Now I was looking at Matteo with his stepmother. My pregnant wife, Victoria.

That was the difference. Approximately four months ago, she wasn’t pregnant but she was now.

Her eyes didn’t hold the shine or sparkle anymore, it didn’t hold that natural twinkle that it used to hold before when she was single and carefree.

When she would laugh and mess around freely.

Since after the wedding she had become like that, dull and lifeless.

Almost like a walking ghost.
