Chapter 93. Normal Day

Jennifer’s POV

Hours passed of listening to Bob explaining everything happened outside and to my father, who should be dead by now.

I still can’t believe that.

All the time, ever since I was a child. I’ve been lied to. I went through hell being lied to. My mom was right, everyone was lying.

Now I know what my mom’s last words were. “Don’t trust anyone.”

Even my own father lied to me.

“So I guess… that was everything I knew.” Bob ended the explanation and I can’t still hold it. I don’t know what to say. I’m out of words. They are all lying to me.

Even my fucking name was a lie? What else? So am I adopted?

“Hey? Are you okay? I’m sorry… I shouldn’t have asked you. I already know the answer,” he mumbled.

I’m lucky that even though everyone lied to me, I still have one person who sticks to me even on the worst day. Bob is the only person that didn’t lie to me. He is the only one I trust.
