Chapter 22
Mrs. Maria sipped her herbal tea slowly, her face looking serious as if contemplating something. A moment later, she set down the cup she was holding and called for Miranda from the kitchen. With a slight hurry, Miranda entered the living room and respectfully bowed.
"What is it, Madam, that you're calling me?" Miranda asked.
"I have a task for you," replied Mrs. Maria succinctly.
"What task, Madam?" Miranda inquired again.
Mrs. Maria didn't answer immediately; she merely gazed at Miranda. She cleared her throat softly and then rose from her seated position. She approached Miranda and whispered something to the servant who intensely disliked Ivy.
