The man shook his head frantically. “No! No, ma’am!” He quickly dropped to his knees in front of me, bowing his head. “I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! It was a mistake!”

I stood there stunned, mouth slightly open. “W-what…?” I didn’t even know what to say. The whole situation had flipped so fast I felt dizzy.

Suddenly, the lady turned to the crowd with a dramatic wave of her hand.

“And the rest of you, really? You saw a young girl and immediately assumed she was the villain? Instead of finding out what happened, you started blaming an innocent girl?”

The crowd bowed their heads in shame, no one daring to say a word.
