Marie’s POV
June picked the movie, which means it's about a family of raccoons who solve mysteries, and Roxie and I end up in the back row while Luke and June claim the middle like it's their sacred duty.
"This is genuinely a good movie," Roxie whispers, twenty minutes in, leaning toward me. "I was not expecting that."
"The raccoon detective has more depth than most adult romance leads."
"That's not a high bar, but sure."
"Guys." Luke, twisted around in his seat, whisper-shouting. "Some of us are trying to watch."
"We're being very quiet," I whisper back.
"You are being extremely not quiet."
"Shhh," June adds, delighted to be included in scolding adults, and goes right back to watching, eyes huge in the dark.
