“Honestly…” he chuckled, “I don’t know why your face kept appearing in my head. Maybe it’s because I was surprised with the way you dealt with me that night,” he laughed, planting a smile on my face.

“… Or when you spoke to me, placed your hand on my forehead, and understood my problem when no one else could. Maybe that’s the reason,” Trent said, staring into my eyes.

My mouth came opened a bit, but no words came out. Trent’s words were giving me the shivers. And when it did, I gently broke the eye lock, looking elsewhere.

“So, is that why you’re here? To know if I’ve placed some kind of curse on you?” I joked, glancing at him swiftly.

I heard Trent hum before replying, “I think so.”

That answer sent waves around my system. I looked at Trent and found him smiling at me. He drew closer and said, “I don’t know what you did, but it made me feel at peace. That’s why I left my pack and came back to find you.”

“Oh, I see. How fascinating.”
