“Evolet, what happened? Are you okay?” Derby asked worriedly, placing her hand on my shoulder.

“I’m… I’m fine,” I lied, trying to catch my breath before noticing the shoulder Derby was touching was the same place Cadell was resting on. I looked forward and found Cadell staring into my eyes.

“Goodness, I woke him when I panicked,” I assumed, feeling upset with myself.

Cadell looked down at my chest then back at my face, revealing what exactly woke him up. It was my heart. He felt my heartbeat racing fast and woke to check up on me.

“Sorry,” I apologized to him, caressing his face. To show his concern, Cadell placed his forehead on mine, calming my racing heart. He knows what I need.

I felt Trent placing his head on my hand to comfort me, then Derby wrapped her arms around my body, promising to take away all my worries away.
