Chapter 36. Never Alone Again
Emma’s POV
I walked through the pack’s territory, enjoying the warm sun on my face and the sound of birds chirping. I saw a woman approaching me. The woman’s eyes shone with tears as she reached out and gently touched my arm.
“Thank you,” the woman said, her voice trembling with emotion. “Thank you for saving my child.”
My confusion quickly turned to understanding as I realized who this woman must be. “You’re the mother of the little boy I… I saved, aren’t you?” I asked, my own voice filled with emotion.
The woman nodded, tears streaming down her face. “Yes, I am. I’ve wanted to thank you in person since I heard what happened. You saved my son’s life, Emma. I can never repay you for that.”
I felt a lump form in my throat as I hugged the woman tightly. “You don’t have to thank me,” I said. “I’m just glad I was there to help.”
