Yet, despite his best efforts to distance himself, he couldn't help but notice the hurt in Tami's eyes, a reflection of his pain mirrored back at him. Guilt gnawed at him as he realized that he should not be rude to her, she could have refused to marry him. Maybe he should even see the depth of her sacrifice, stepping into the role of his bride out of duty even after he yelled at her and accused her that she was responsible for all this. She could have refused to get married after he threatened her that he would never accept her, but she chose to accept all this.
