The long night is finally over, and while Miranda is a fine enough woman to comprehend Adrian's predicament, he does not expect the same level of satisfaction. Miranda chose to return home after the meeting, pleased that Adrian had accompanied her through that beautiful gray night. Adrian had intended to offer Miranda money, but she refused.
