It hurt so much that Vincent couldn’t remember anything. It had been more than a week since the accident. I kept in touch with Ryan and he told me it was very hard for him to be around him. At first, after an hour or so, Vincent’s mind would go completely blank.

In recent days the interval increased to about two hours. All the better. It was time for me to get in on the act.

I was still staying at Mara’s apartment and she had made delicious coffee. This morning was a little sunnier than the others.

“Have you thought about how and why you’re going to show up?” Mara asked, sipping a mouthful eagerly.
