“I think that’s an excellent idea,” I said.
We decided to head down to the beach town where we had met all those years ago. As we walked along the boardwalk, holding hands like teenagers, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for this moment.
Together, we laughed, reminisced and made new memories, reminding me of all the reasons why I fell in love with Riccardo in the first place.
That night, as we sat on the beach watching the sunset, I leaned my head on Riccardo’s shoulder and breathed in the salty air.
“Thank you for this,” I said.
“For what?” he asked.
“For everything. For being my partner in life, for being there through every single challenge and triumph. For building a beautiful life together.”
Riccardo turned his face to mine and gave me a soft kiss on the lips.
Over the coming days, Riccardo and I spent our time exploring the town together. We visited quaint shops, enjoyed ice cream by the beach, and watched the sunset each night
