The Party

That afternoon James Miller took Becky to a well-known boutique and bought her a nice dress for her to wear.

“Where are we going, Mr. Miller?" asked Becky after they got back in the car.

"To a party, listen, don't talk to anyone without my permission, if someone asks you a question, answer as briefly as possible," said James Miller dryly.

Becky just nodded faintly then turned her face to the window, thinking about her siblings. It seemed they didn't need her presence anymore, with all the facilities James Miller had given them she shouldn't have to worry about anything.

"Is there any news about my father, Mr. Miller?” she asked quietly.

James Miller was silent for a while before replying, "Don't put your hopes on him anymore, he's left you guys already, now focus on your job,!" he said coldly.

"Job? What kind of job do you mean, Mr. Miller?"
