Chapter 40

Anger

Becky took a deep breath, disappointed. But she knew there was nothing she could do about it. Finally, she chose to go back to bed, and her hunger disappeared instantly, replaced by a feeling of tightness that made it a little difficult for her to breathe. She leaned back and closed her eyes. She had to sleep, only then she wouldn't go up to James Miller again and ask the same thing. She tried hard to clear her mind, until finally thirty minutes later she fell into a sound sleep...

The next morning she was awakened by the smell of coffee that entered her sense of smell. She slowly opened her eyes and found James sitting on the edge of the bed with a tray in his hands. Surprised, Becky rushed to straighten her back,

"What are you doing?" she asked, staring at the toasted bread, and coffee neatly arranged on the tray on his lap.

"Can't you see? I made breakfast for you," he said stiffly.

Becky gulped and then nodded her
