Chapter 71. At the Pier
Cristine's POV
I pushed the doorbell button of our gate. It's already afternoon when I and Auntie Grace arrived here. It's so tiring, but it's such a relief that we finally escaped.
When no one came out of the door to open the gate for us, I try once again, but still there's no one. Maybe they left.
"I think there's no one inside," Auntie Grace said.
I faced her. She was looking at me when her eyes landed on something behind me.
"What's that?"
I looked at the ground where she was looking at. There's a white paper between the gate. It's just small so I didn't noticed it earlier.
I pick it up and read something that is written on it.
Go to the pier if you want to see your mother.
Nervousness filled my chest. Auntie Grace was looking at me, puzzled why my reaction changed suddenly.
