Chapter 24. Lunch

Ellie's POV

“What if she asks you to give Ulie to her, will you give her what she wants?”

My forehead furrowed. “Why are you asking me this kind of question? Did something happen?”

He shrugged. “Nothing. I was just curious. The Adelson didn’t do anything when the Escarrer cancel the marriage that they had agreed on.”

He has a point, even I, myself was quite surprised when Adelson didn’t make any move or reaction to Escarrer’s sudden decision. It’s not that I wanted them to react to the Escarrer family. I just thought they would be against it and would push the Escarrer family to proceed with the arranged marriage, considering they did it for their business. This would mean a great loss for both families.

“What do you think?” He asked me.

I heaved a sigh. “I’m don’t know. I don’t know them personally, I have no idea how they think.”

“I know Hadley. We were classmates in college when I studied abroad.” He said.
