Chapter 58

I leaned on the passenger seat of Nick's car, eyes closed, as I battled a growing headache. My head felt heavy, I barely had any voice, and my throat was sore. The aftermath of drinking the previous night had caught up with me, and to worsen it all, I had to accompany Nick to pick up mom and Rob at the airport.
"You've been quiet the entire drive, honey. Is everything okay?" My mom spoke behind me in the rear seat. Her and Rob had insisted on sitting at the back together, holding hands and spotting huge, dazzling smiles.
"Just headache." It was half the truth. She didn't have to know I had been out drinking because she would skin me alive. She wasn't against me going out as long as I followed curfew and didn't drink anything alcoholic.
"Have you taken something to get rid of the ache?" I groaned inwardly. I needed silence because every word she pronounced felt like a hammer was pounding the top of my head. I missed her, but I couldn't
