Early the next morning, the day after Mark’s poisoning, I am up before the crack of dawn and outside near the gate, down the road from the castle, pacing.

The other Alphas are busy, and that’s for the best. They don’t need to know what I'm up to. Not yet anyway.

Recently, the four of us have been acting like we have one head and can’t make any decisions for ourselves. Every time one of us gets mildly “out of line,” Mark throws a hissy fit like a little baby.

Well, he’s still incapacitated, so this is the perfect time for me to take a bit of control of the situation.

But if this plan doesn’t start to come to fruition in a few minutes, I’m going to abandon ship and head back to the castle. Mark might be out for the count, but Eli and Reece are going to figure out eventually that I didn’t accidentally let Mr. Whiskers out into the north garden.
