As I stand in front of the full-length mirror, I can’t help but smile at the reflection of perfection beaming back at me. Shaking my hair, I watch as the curls fall around my shoulders like soft velvet ripples.

Although I had no doubts about the success of my mission to get my idiot coward cousin out of the castle, I know I still have a lot of cards in my deck to play. He is probably hiding out in his plush emergency bunker somewhere far away, sitting on his swamp ass with a silly foil wrapped around his head out of concern that Alpha Kane is monitoring him or listening to what he’s thinking. How much of a fool could a so-called king possibly be?

I look around the empty room and feel my heart drop just a notch. I wish there was someone around I could boast to about how clever I’ve been. I wish my posse was here so that they could marvel at how awesome and great I am.

I sigh. I don’t need their validation, though. Soon they will be curts
