Book 2: Telling the Potential Fathers

There’s a hype of excitement in the air as the four of us set up the picnic area. We’re all going to be having lunch with Rose. I’ve missed her so much, and can’t wait to see her. I can tell that I’m not the only one who’s missed her.

Each one of us has put our own special touch into today’s menu and overall set-up. Vienna advised us to add some pickle slices and a jar of peanut butter. I can’t help but wonder why; maybe this is something pregnant women are supposed to eat. Maybe some essential vitamins are found in this particular food combination and are important for babies’ growth. I don’t think it tastes good, though. Healthy foods rarely taste good.

I see Kelly and Rose making their way up the small hill toward us. We all stop and stare. I know we are all watching the girl who seems to have the sun shining only on her like it is a spotlight, and she is the star performer.

Her face looks fuller, and she seems to radiate from within.
