Chapter 83. Could It Work?

I listen to Mark trying to convince Rose that everything is going to be all right, but I’m not completely sure he’s convincing her.

He isn’t convincing me. We still have a lot left to do.

Before I can suggest that we get back to the dance, Eli says, “Alpha Stephen is a notoriously evil man. I’m not sure that having Emily team up with him is really the way to go.”

“Well, we’ll just have to make sure they hook up and get as far away from the castle as possible so that they aren’t where they can hurt Rose or the babies,” Mark adds.

“We need to get back there,” I declare. “We’ve left Reece holding down the fort for long enough. We’ve got to make sure we can convince Gene to send Emily off to marry Stephen or whoever without it making a problem for us.”

“Are you okay with us leaving again?” Eli asks Rose.

“Yes, of course,” she assures us. “If that’s what it takes for this plan to work.”
