"Aakifahlynn, please, I cannot bear to see you in pain." Jairus pleaded some more. Concern dripped into his tone and expression as he gently stroked her shoulders and down her arms.
Ok, that did it. The hell? He cannot see her in pain? She screamed in her mind.
While Raven instantly took over, she hated her mate, maybe even more than Aakifahlynn. "Leave me alone," she roared. "I am sick, can't you see?"
Jairus retracted from the bed and stared at her like she had grown two heads.
Yes, Aakifahlynn never spoke to him this way, not even as a kid. She never raised her voice at him.
