Chapter 58. In Time

I do not know which I find more disturbing, Felix’s escape plot or his message from Nabu. Now I don’t know what or who to believe. Assar told me a different thing earlier, that Nabu does not care about me and only wishes to use me, but now Felix, out of mere coincidence, appears with a different message.

Indeed one of them must be lying and it cannot be Felix for I have known and trusted him all my life. We have been through thick and thin in Ardiz where on numerous occasions he saved me from troubles. Besides, what does he have to gain by lying to me? Nothing. He even has nothing to prove to me, let alone an end game. This I cannot say of Assar, a smart and cunning lot. He must be up to something and I will find out.
