Chapter 167. Tears and Heartache

Linda’s POV

The tension in the room was suffocating, thick with betrayal and hurt. I could not bring myself to look at Chris, the man I had trusted with my heart, my life, and now, our unborn child. 

“Linda, please, just hear me out,” Chris pleased, his voice desperate and filled with regret. He reached out to touch my hand, but I recoiled, pulling away from him as if his touch burned. 

Oh my gosh, tell me that was a dream. Tell me that I was asleep. Tell me that none of this was f*cking happening! Not now. Not when I had just finally gotten free.

“There is nothing to say,” I whispered, my voice trembling with anger and pain. “You cheated on me, Chris. You betrayed everything we had.” 

“I know, and I’m so sorry. I swear, I am,” He continued, his voice cracking as tears escaped his eyes and down his cheeks. “I don’t expect you to forgive me, but please, let me…let me make it right. Or just let me try. Let me try to earn back your trust.”
