Chapter 199. A False Alarm

Linda’s POV

My heart pounded in my chest as William's words sank in. Deadly. The word echoed in my mind, sending shivers down my spine. 

I could not believe what I was hearing. "What do you mean by that? How harmful is it?" I asked, feeling my chest tighten.

He had already started the engine of the car and we were now moving. "Very harmful."

"Harmful enough for me to lose my baby?"

He kept quiet, worry and concern etched onto his face. He swallowed hard before mumbling,

"Mm-hmm—but how would I have known that you were pregnant?" He asked, his voice almost as if he was going to cry.

I took a deep breath and let it out. Panicking was not going to help me. I needed to stay calm, I needed to keep my cool. As long as I was not feeling any pain, I chose to believe that I was alright.

Yes, I was going to let him take me to the hospital but I needed to focus on staying as calm as possible.
