Chapter 92. Internal Battle

Khalid's POV

These past few days have not been easy, especially after I confessed my feelings to Hyperion. However, he knows I didn't act on them, and that's what kept me in the pack. Moreover, I made a blood promise not to interfere with the bond of fate, even after they reject each other. There's little chance this promise will be broken, and I doubt I have any chance at all.

Part of me wishes for an opportunity to get closer to Sophia, to feel her in my arms. But my code of honor will never allow that part to take over. As punishment, Hyperion asked me to stay away from Sophia and only approach her when absolutely necessary. He reminded me that I have many duties to fulfill within the pack.

That's how I spent the last two days, never getting close to the room, always following Hyperion's orders and also preparing the protective runes that would be placed on Perseus and Achilles, as we don't want the curse to spread any further.
