Charlotte rushed back to the Taylor residence and quickly packed a few outfits for Cassandra.

But just as she reached the living room, Evelyn appeared out of nowhere, her tone sharp. “Charlotte, what’s all that in your hands? And where do you think you’re going in such a hurry?”

“It’s for Miss Taylor, Madam. Mr. Taylor asked me to bring her some clothes to the hospital,” Charlotte replied politely, even though she wasn’t fond of the old woman’s tone.

Richard, who had been sitting on the sofa reading a financial paper, suddenly looked up, frowning. “What happened? Why is Cassandra in the hospital?”

“I’m not exactly sure, sir. Heard she got hurt at school, but we’ll have to wait for Miss Taylor to wake up to get the full story,” Charlotte answered softly.

Richard immediately set the paper down and stood up. “I’ll go with you to the hospital.”

From the second floor, Lillian leaned against the railing, her eyes cold as she looked down.
