It was Saturday morning.

Skyview Manor.

Mr. Field raised an eyebrow when he saw the elegant young woman at the door — clearly surprised, though he quickly smoothed over his expression.

Keeping his usual respectful tone, he said, “Miss Taylor, please come in.”

Cassandra gave a small nod paired with a soft smile, stepping inside with a calm grace.

Within moments, a couple of well-trained maids served hot tea, snacks, and fresh fruit, then quietly retreated.

“Are you here to see Mr. Blackwood?” Mr. Field asked politely, standing at her side.

“Yes.” Cassandra answered with a faint smile, picking up the special milk tea and taking a light sip.

“In that case, I must apologize. Mr. Blackwood has matters to attend to today. He probably won’t be returning here, at least not until late this evening.” Normally, if nothing else was scheduled, his employer would spend weekends at Skyview Manor. It was a pretty firm pattern.
