Since she still had a few things to ask Leo Winters, Cassandra Taylor planned to do what she did yesterday—catch up to him after work for lunch and discussion.

But just as she stepped out of the office behind him, they ran right into Damien Blackwood.

“President.”

Both Cassandra and Leo greeted at the same time.

Damien gave a brief nod, then turned slightly towards Cassandra, his tone leaving no room for negotiation. “Taylor, lunch with me.”

Lunch? With him?

Cassandra felt an instant “nope” in her heart. Just having lunch with Leo had stirred up drama in the Secretarial Department yesterday. If she sat down to eat with Damien today, she might not survive the gossip war.

“Uh… President, I actually already—”

Before she could finish, Damien picked up where she’d left off, “Already made plans with Assistant Winters?”

“No,” Leo immediately denied, stepping aside. His tone was cold, like the whole thing had nothing to do wi
