Cassandra turned coldly and walked upstairs without a word.

The post only stirred up some questions, and even if Vera admitted she was the one who sent it, with that silver tongue of hers, she could talk her way out of anything.

Add to that Evelyn backing her, it was clear she wouldn’t face any real consequences—maybe just a verbal warning at best.

But that wasn’t what Cassandra was after. She had no interest in wasting energy over something this petty.

“Look at that arrogant attitude of hers, like she’s too good for everyone…” Evelyn pointed at Cassandra’s back, clearly pissed.

Alexander cut her off, unusually stern, “That’s enough from you too.

Candy’s been wronged enough tonight. You seriously expect her to smile and pretend like nothing happened?”

With that, he stood and walked out of the room with his grandson.

Richard glanced at Vera, face tight, before following suit.
